Bliss Bibliographic Classification
We use the Bliss system as the GD& framework. Bliss was the brainchild of Henry E Bliss (1870–1955) while working as assistant librarian in New York. Unlike equivalents, it allows for the same book to be associated with multiple subjects. Bliss developed it using his typewriter. Its codes comprise upper- and lower-case letters, numerals and every typographical symbol available to him.
