No-one who attended the GraphicDesign& launch last year could forget social scientist Nikandre Kopcke and information designer Dave Shaw’s fast and furious data gathering and visualisation that ran throughout the evening. A graduate of LSE’s Gender Institute, Nikandre is currently working with GraphicDesign& again, recruiting both male and female graphic designers to participate in her research project on how gender affects professional development and career outcomes. The research draws on a mix of survey findings, interviews, and case studies, and will be published in a forthcoming GraphicDesign& title featuring data visualisations by a series of leading international designers.
